In a desperate attempt to cover up its failure to maintain sanitation, the district administration of Dehradun placed green coloured nettings along the roadside at many places during the visit of the President Droupadi Murmu on Friday. Such covers were strategically placed to cover up the garbage dumps and open drains along the entire route of the President from the GTC helipad to the campus of Doon University.
It is pertinent to mention here that the use of such green covers by the authorities has now become a common practice to conceal problems faced by the citizens on a daily basis. Such covers are used during the visits of VVIPs and were even used initially when the Swachchh Survekshan was being carried out in the city.
