Covid-19 spike continues in U’khand

The spike in the incidence of Covid-19 is continuing in Uttarakhand. On Saturday the state health department reported 288 new cases of the disease from different parts of the state. Death of one patient from the disease was reported from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh on the day.

 The authorities also declared 255 patients cured from the disease on the day.  The department has so far detected 97,628 new cases of the disease from January 1 this year till date. A total of 92,309 patients have recovered from the disease so far in this year. The recovery percentage of the disease was at 94.55 per cent. A total of 290 patients have lost their lives to the disease this year in the state. The state had a very high positivity rate of 16.44 per cent on Saturday. 

 The health department reported 146 new patients from Dehradun, 45 from Nainital and 24 from Haridwar on Saturday. No new cases of the disease were reported from Uttarkashi and Champawat districts on the day.  There are 1553 active patients in the state now. Dehradun with 909 cases is at the top of the table of active cases in the state.
