Vice President offers special prayers in Kedarnath & Badrinath

Experienced divinity, sublimity, serenity and pristine environment: Dhankhar

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar and his wife Sudesh Dhankhar offered prayers in Kedarnath and Badrinath temple on the last day of his two-day tour to Uttarakhand on Friday. Sharing his experience, he stated on X, “Experienced divinity, sublimity, serenity and pristine environment ever since myself and my wife landed in Devbhumi yesterday.” Stating that the visits to Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath will ever remain etched in their memories, Dhankhar stated, “These divine places mark our civilizational ethos and essence. Availed the divine opportunity at these holy and revered places to seek peace and happiness for all living beings on the planet.”

The Vice President and his wife first reached Kedarnath in Rudraprayag district where they offered Rudrabhishek and special prayers to the Lord. The prayers lasted for about half an hour. After this, the governor lieutenant general (retd) Gurmit Singh informed him in detail about the reconstruction and development works in Kedarnath. The Vice President appreciated the works being undertaken in difficult conditions in this high altitude area.

 Later at Badrinath in Chamoli district, the Vice President and his wife prayed for the unity of the nation and world peace. They offered special prayers conducted by the Rawal (chief priest) Ishvari Prasad Namboodari, which lasted for about 25 minutes. Dhankhar was also informed about the works being undertaken as part of the Badrinath master plan. He commended all those involved for executing challenging works under difficult conditions. It will be recalled that on the first day of his two-day visit to the State, the Vice President had offered special prayers in Gangotri in Uttarkashi district on Thursday.
