Covid-19: Just 13 new cases reported in U’khand

2602 vaccinated in 88 sessions held on Saturday

In the ongoing vaccination drive a total of 2602 beneficiaries were vaccinated in 88 sessions held in different parts of the state on Saturday. The Chief Operations Officer (COO) of state Covid-19 control room, Abhishek Tripathi said that a total of 136529 beneficiaries have received the first dose of the vaccine so far in the state. He said that 7905 health care workers have received the second dose of the vaccine.

A total of 1501 front line workers and 1101 health care workers were vaccinated in 88 sessions held in the state on Saturday. In Haridwar 27 vaccine sessions were held on the day in which 635 frontline workers and 49 health workers were vaccinated while 315 frontline workers and 172 health workers were vaccinated in Dehradun in 20 sessions.

In an interesting development the state health department reduced the number of patients affected by Covid-19 on Saturday. In the health bulletin released by the Uttarakhand State Covid-19 Control room on Friday the number of patients of the disease was 97031 however this figure was reduced to 96657 on Saturday. The in charge of control room Abhishek Vajpayee clarified that the reduction in number occurred after the data reconciliation with Government of India after deletion of duplicate samples of some individuals.

The health department reported only 13 cases of the pandemic which is the lowest figure in the last many months. No death from the disease was reported by the department on the day.

The authorities discharged six patients from different hospitals of the state following their recovery on Saturday. A total of 93142 patients have recovered from the disease in the state so far and the recovery percentage is now at 96.36. A total of 1686 patients have so far succumbed to the disease.

The authorities reported five new patients from Dehradun, three from Udham Singh Nagar, two each from Champawat and Haridwar and one from Nainital.  No new patient of the disease was reported from Almora, Bageshwar, Chamoli, Pauri, Pithoragarh, Rudraprayag, Tehri and Uttarkashi.

The state now has 454 active patients of Covid-19. Haridwar district is at the top of the table of active cases of the disease with 134 patients. Nainital has 74, Almora 71, Udham Singh Nagar 36, Dehradun 27, Pauri 25, Tehri 19, Pithoragarh 17, Chamoli 15, Champawat 12, Uttarkashi 11, Bageshwar 10 and Rudraprayag three active cases of the disease.
