Covid-19- Death toll increases to 1128 in U’khand

Nine deaths, 420 fresh cases reported on Wednesday

The death toll from the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) in Uttarakhand climbed to 1128 on Wednesday with the state health department reporting nine deaths from the disease. The department also reported 420 fresh cases of the disease on the day which further increased the tally of the disease to 69307 in the state. The authorities discharged 425 patients from different hospitals of the state after their complete recovery on Wednesday. A total of 63420 patients have so far recovered from the disease in the state. The recovery percentage from the disease is now at 91.51 while the sample positivity rate is 5.77 percent.

Two patients of the disease were reported dead at the Himalayan hospital, Dehradun on Wednesday. A similar number of patients succumbed to Covid-19 at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh on the day. One patient each of the disease was reported dead at Mahant Indiresh hospital Dehradun, Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) hospital Dehradun, Sushila Tiwari government hospital, Haldwani, JLN District hospital Rudrapur and Military hospital, Pithoragarh on Wednesday.

Out of 425 patients discharged on Wednesday, 149 were from Dehradun, 75 from Haridwar, 47 from Pauri, 43 from Chamoli, 41 from Bageshwar, 28 from Udham Singh Nagar, 12 from Uttarkashi, nine from Nainital, eight from Tehri and two from Almora.

After showing decline in the number of Covid-19 cases from the last two months, the provisional state capital Dehradun is again showing a spate in number of cases. The authorities reported 153 fresh cases of the disease on the day from Dehradun. Similarly 51 cases were reported from Nainital, 42 from Haridwar, 38 from Udham Singh Nagar, 28 each from Rudraprayag and Chamoli, 23 from Pauri, 18 from Tehri, 17 from Almora, 12 from Bageshwar, seven from Pithoragarh, two from Champawat and one from Uttarkashi.  Uttarakhand now has 4147 active patients of the disease. Dehradun district with 1038 active cases is at top of table while with 439 active cases Haridwar is now on second position. Pauri has 430, Nainital 361, Chamoli 288, Udham Singh Nagar 312, Tehri 255, Almora 225, Pithoragarh 195, Rudraprayag 224, Uttarkashi 149 and Bageshwar 125 active cases of the disease. With 106 active cases of Covid-19, Champawat is at the bottom of the table.
