Nainital State Employees Joint Council welcomes govt’s decision to shift Harela from July 16 to July 17

In latest Uttarakhand news, the Nainital State Employees Joint Council welcomed the decision of the State government to change the date of the folk festival Harela from July 16 (Sunday) to July 17.  Expressing happiness over the State government having accepted the collective demand of the people to change the date, the patron of the council Bahadur Singh Bisht said that their council had kept demanding this change of the date of the folk festival. “By accepting the demand of the State government employees, the government has respected the people’s sentiment,” he added. Speaking on the matter, the district president of the council Aslam Ali said that they would now celebrate the festival with full verve and enthusiasm.
