Cong holds blood donation camp in memory of Rajiv Gandhi

In view of the shortage of blood in different Blood Banks of the state, the political parties and social organisations are organising special blood donation camps. In the memory of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi the Uttarakhand Congress is organising a week-long programme under which blood donation camps are being organised in different parts of the state. One such camp was organised in Cant Assembly constituency on Monday. Large number of Congress party workers donated blood in the camp.

Speaking on the occasion, the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) President Pritam Singh said that the history of the Congress party is full of the sacrifices and the party workers are still following the legacy set up by its leaders. Launching an attack on the state government, he said that the people who were handed over the power by the people in the elections are lying low at a time when the people are dying in absence of treatment. Targeting the state president of BJP, Madan Kaushik, the PCC president said that those who are undertaking fast against the Congress should take lessons from the blood donation camps organised by the party. Appreciating the Oxygen bank initiative undertaken by vice President of Uttarakhand Congress Surya Kant Dhasmana, Singh said that lives of many were saved by the bank.

Dhasmana said that the Congress workers are at the forefront to help people during the pandemic and they are donating blood and plasma to save the lives of the people. He claimed that he had taken a target of 500 units of blood from the Cant Assembly constituency.

The district president of Congress Sanjay Kishore, Piya Thapa, Vikas Negi and others were present on the occasion.
