Blood shortage: Former CM organises donation camp

Large number of people came forward on the appeal made by former chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat and donated their blood in a camp organised by him. More than 100 volunteers registered while 55 donated blood in the camp organised with the help of Indian Medical Association (IMA) Blood bank at Pavilion Ground here on Monday. Speaking on the occasion Rawat said that he has given a call ‘ Pehle Raktdan Fir Tikakaran ( first donate blood then go for vaccination) in view of the shortage of the blood in the blood banks. “I have held talks with different social organisations and started mission blood donation. Since one cannot donate blood for a certain period after vaccination we have asked people to donate blood before going for vaccination,’’ he said.

The former CM asserted that he would strive to ensure that there is no scarcity of blood in the state. The Mayor of Dehradun Sunil Uniyal Gama,Vice President of state BJP Anil Goyal, MLA Khajan Das, Ravindra Kataria, Sitaram Bhatt and others were present on the occasion.
