Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that the sentiment of cultural nationalism has revived in the country under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the State government is committed to the reconstruction and restoration of ancient temples in Uttarakhand. He was addressing a programme organised to mark the Bhoomi Poojan for reconstruction of Sapteshwar Mahadev Temple in Champawat on Saturday.

Congratulating the people on the occasion of Mahashivratri, the CM said that Uttarakhand is called the land of Lord Shiva and the area of Garhwal division is considered as the land of Baba Kedar so it is called Kedarkhand. Similarly the mountainous part of the Kumaon division is termed as Manaskhand since it is land of holy Kailash Mansarovar which is the reason why the State government is working in the direction of developing a Manaskhand corridor. He said that the proposed corridor will include Goljyu temple, Patal Bhuvneshwari, Kot Brahmari, Guru Gorakhnath, Purnagiri Devidhura, Kainchi Dhami, Bala Sundari and other temples in the first phase. More temples would be included in the second phase of Manaskhand corridor.

Dhami said that the State government is preparing a mega project for the Manaskhand corridor and it is a matter of great pride that the tableaux of the State based on the theme of Manaskhand got first prize in this year’s republic day parade.

Dhami said that he is committed to the development of Champawat district and for this, a CM camp office has been opened at the district headquarter and Tanakpur for fast disposal of the complaints. He said that the government is working on a mission mode to make Champawat the model district. Dhami claimed that a total of 95 announcements have been made for the development of Champawat district and out of them 45 have been completed. He added that a budget of Rs 58 crore has been approved for ISBT at Tanakpur.

Lohaghat MLA Khusal Singh Adhikari, BJP district president Nirmal Mahra and others were present on the occasion.
