Memoranda of understanding worth Rs 12,500 crore signed recently in Britain will immensely boost tourism in the State besides providing employment opportunities. The chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said this on Sunday when he participated in the Garbage Free India Campaign and did one hour of Shramdaan under the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign at Shaheed Park in Haldwani. He cleaned the park with other participants and paid tribute to the martyrs. He addressed several people who participated in the campaign as well including students, women and members of self help groups.  Sharing his experience of meeting the ministers and delegates of England in his recent visit to London who had earlier come to India for the G20 summit, Dhami said that the summit held in India allowed the world to see India quite closely. He said that India is creating its own unique identity in the world by increasing its closeness with the powerful nations of the world. He also said that one of the main reasons for the progress of developed countries is cleanliness and to achieve this, the country has been conducting mega campaigns with public participation.
