Change of CM would not absolve BJP of sins of 4 years: Cong

CM change would not make any difference to the fortunes of BJP- Pritam Singh

The Uttarakhand Congress has termed the change in leadership in Uttarakhand as a farce and a bad joke on the people of the state. The Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Pritam Singh said that the change of chief minister in Uttarakhand proves that the only concern of BJP is the elections. He said that the whole episode which came out in the open following the abrupt adjournment of budget session of Uttarakhand assembly in Bharadisain, the summoning of Trivendra Singh Rawat to Delhi and four day long political drama ended with appointment of Tirath Singh Rawat to the post of CM. On a sarcastic note, the PCC president said that whether it is Trivendra or Tirath does not make any difference to the fortunes of BJP. He opined that the national leadership of the BJP has cheated the people of Uttarakhand. Singh said that in the last four years the health services of the state have remained in shambles, the government failed to give any employment and the development is at standstill. He added that the BJP has exposed its hunger for power by abruptly ending the important budget session of the assembly.

The vice president of Uttarakhand Congress, Surya Kant Dhasmana said that the new chief minister Tirath Singh Rawat would be held accountable for the failures of the last four years of the government. He said that the sins of the BJP would not get washed by change in the face of the chief minister. Dhasmana said that the people of the state had given an overwhelming majority in the assembly by giving 57 seats to BJP but their hopes have been dashed. “The development is at standstill, unemployment is at its peak, for the first time in the history of the state the farmers have committed suicide and the health services are in shambles. The new CM would be answerable for all these failures,’’ he said.
