Doctors save child who swallowed whistle

The doctors of the Ear Nose Throat (ENT) Department of Shri Mahant Indiresh hospital here saved the life of a five year old boy by removing a whistle trapped in his breathing tract. The child had accidently swallowed the whistle while playing and was complaining of difficulty in breathing. The head of department (HoD) of the ENT department of the hospital,  Dr Apurva Kumar Pandey said that a team of the doctors conducted the complicated ENT surgery of the child successfully and removed the whistle from the breathing tract of the child. He said that the child has completely recovered after the operation and had been discharged from the hospital. The parents of the child have expressed deep gratitude and gratefulness towards Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital and its ENT Surgeons.

 The Assistant Professor and ENT Surgeon, Dr Sharad Hernot who was in the team emphasized that the parents must be very cautious while giving plastic toys to the children. In the due course of the play, children can engulf a toy or a tiny piece of plastic. He said that the parents must observe extreme precaution while giving plastic or any toy to the children for playing as engulfing any such thing may prove to be life threatening.

The team of doctors also included Dr Tripti Mamgain, Dr Arvind Verma, Dr Lalit Pokhariya, anaesthetist Dr Swati, and Dr Amrita.
