BJP to step up preparations for local body and LS elections

Nadda chairs State core committee meeting, various issues discussed

Stepping up preparations for the coming elections of the urban local bodies, the Bharatiya Janata Party will hold deliberations in areas under the local bodies for selection of its candidates. The party will also prepare a report on the tours and public interactions of its MLAs and MPs, and submit it to the party’s central leadership. The BJP State president Mahendra Bhatt said this while interacting with the media after the meeting of the party’s State core committee which was presided over by the BJP national president JP Nadda in Haridwar on Sunday. In the meeting the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also informed Nadda in detail about the status of disasters in the State and the relief measures undertaken.

Bhatt said Nadda’s guidance was received during discussions on various issues during his one-day tour of the State. The BJP national president also appreciated Dhami on various decisions of the State government. “Considering the local body elections to be held in the near future important suggestions were received on some points. In view of the elections, the party will hold deliberations in the municipal corporation and municipality areas for selection of candidates. We will also prepare and submit a report to the central leadership on the tours and public interactions of the MLAs and MPs,” said Bhatt, while adding that the BJP will win all the five Lok Sabha seats in the State and that the BJP will again form the government in the Centre. He further said that Nadda had appreciated Dhami on various decisions taken in the State in public interest. He appreciated the decisions and measures taken by the State government on aspects like the uniform civil code, love jihad, land jihad and forced religious conversion. The party’s national president was also informed in detail about the status of the disasters in the State and the measures taken to provide relief to the affected people. Seeking detailed information about the disaster status from the CM, Nadda also exhorted the party organisation to ensure involvement in relief works.

Nadda also attended other events during his day-long tour of the State. He listened to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Mann Ki Baat programme along with party workers and also planted a sapling as part of the Meri Maati Mera Desh programme.
