Police teams briefed ahead of PM’s visit

Senior police officers along with Dehradun district magistrate R Rajesh Kumar briefed the police force deployed in Rishikesh for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled visit on Thursday. They also discussed the security arrangements for the same.

The Dehradun senior superintendent of police (SSP) Janmejaya Khanduri along with the Inspector General of Police (Law and Order) V Murugesan and Inspector General of Police (Intelligence) Sanjay Gunjayal directed the police force engaged in the duty to arrive three hours before the scheduled time at their duty spot. “Only authorised persons and their vehicles should be allowed inside.

Persons meeting VVIPs should also be closely monitored by the security and only listed people should be allowed inside after the anti-sabotage checking,” directed the police officials. The SSP asked the deployed police personnel not to leave their positions at the time of duty. He also prohibited them from using mobile phones during duty. The nodal police officers were also asked to ensure that all the police officials deployed in uniforms and plain clothes must stay in their designated position.

Khanduri also stated that strict action will be taken against the member of the police force who acts negligently towards duty. The deputy inspector general (Garhwal) Neeru Garg and deputy inspector general (Security) Krishna Kumar VK were also present during the briefing.
