BJP calls Harish Rawat’s concern for unemployment phony

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has termed Congress’ concern for increasing unemployment in the State as preposterous.

The state president of BJP, Mahendra Bhatt on Wednesday said that the former chief minister Harish Rawat protected those who got jobs by unfair means and those responsible for scams in Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UKSSSC) during the Congress government in the state. He said that Congress has been responsible for damaging the foundation of employment across the State under its government and it is outrageous how its leaders are now showing phony concerns for unemployed youths for petty political gains. He said that Rawat protected several fraudsters during his time as a CM who got recruited by conducting fraud in UKSSSC. He failed to take any action against them at that time but now he is pretending to be a messiah of unemployed youths by carrying out a bare foot march for unemployment, Bhatt said.

The state BJP president said that if Rawat really wanted to fight against unemployment and give justice to unemployed youths, he could have taken action against them when he was the CM of the State. He called himself a victim of a conspiracy when such scams came to light at that time rather than taking responsibility for such acts as a CM but now, he is acting as a concerned leader, stated the BJP head. Scams carried out in UKSSSC recruitment exams over the years are now coming to light and the former CM has played a big role in protecting the culprits, added Bhatt.
