Preparing for third wave
The AYUSH minister Harak Singh Rawat has said that 158 Ayurveda hospitals of the state would be upgraded to meet the challenge posed by the third wave of the pandemic of Covid-19. He said that the bed capacity of these hospitals would be increased from existing four to ten.
The minister held a review meeting of the AYUSH department in Vidhan Sabha auditorium on Friday. In the meeting he directed the officials of the department to focus on strengthening the infrastructure and work on the principle of better facilities at low costs. The minister said that there are many places in the state which lack Allopathic hospitals but have Ayurveda hospitals. He said that there are 429 Ayurveda hospitals with IPD facilities and out of them 158 would be upgraded. The minister added that the equipment and human resources would be provided to the Ayurveda hospitals to meet the challenge of the third wave of the pandemic. The meeting was attended by AYUSH secretary Chandresh Yadav, secretary finance V Shanmugam, additional secretary Arunendra Singh Chauhan, Amita Joshi, director of Ayurveda M P Singh and others.
