Awareness campaign against drug abuse commences at DAV College

To combat the increasing instances of drug abuse among the youth in the State, the anti- drug cell of DAV (PG) College and Drug Free Devbhoomi Abhiyan have launched an awareness programme at DAV (PG) College on Tuesday during which the psychology experts urged the students not to fall prey to drug abuse and musical bands imparted messages on the ruinous impacts of drug addiction through their presentation.  

Notably, the Drug Free Devbhoomi Abhiyan is meant to inspire the youngsters to stay away from drug addiction through creative programmes organised in college and university campuses across the State. During the anti-drug awareness programme organised at DAV (PG) College, Dr Maitri Ghoshal, a psychologist, explained to the youths the ways to rid themselves of drug addiction and move forward in life taking challenges head-on. Thereafter, Prakriti Band and Rappers D-Hop and Macky-J gave a presentation on the theme of de-addiction.  

Speaking on this occasion, the Principal of DAV (PG) College, K R Jain exhorted the students to get engaged in creative activities instead of wasting away life being trapped in the deadly clutches of drug addiction.
The nodal officer of the anti-drug cell of DAV (PG) College Rita Pandey informed about the activities of the cell to help the youth keep away from the dreaded habit of taking narcotics.
