He said that while the youths can undertake various types of business activities under Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali scheme, they can also apply to the tourism department under the Deendayal Upadhyay homestay scheme for building homestays. He assured the people that the tourism department will provide all possible cooperation in this to the people. He further said that the Centre provides fund for constructing canals under PMGKY but the shortage of land in Uttarakhand is a problem. For this, the State has asked the Centre to provide funds for repairing the old canals. Maharaj said that he had been assured by the Union minister that he would soon consider this request. Addressing officials on the occasion, the minister told them that they are public servants and should receive the phone calls of the public. He directed PWD officials to ensure timely repair of the Satpuli, Dudharkhal and other motor roads which are in a bad state.

Maharaj also interacted with the locals and Bharatiya Janata Party workers during his Chaubattakhal visit. He warned officials found casual towards their work telling them that negligence in development works will not be tolerated. When residents of Kot Malla complained about the water problem in the village, the minister directed the official concerned of Jal Sansthan to ensure water supply in the area without delay. Order the official to report back to him after doing the needful, Maharaj warned that action would be taken against him if water supply is not ensured.
