Cabinet takes various decisions to move forward in Covid period

The state health department reported 128 new cases of Covid -19 and two deaths from the disease in Uttarakhand on Friday. The cumulative count of patients in the state has now increased to 3,39,373 while the death toll from the disease increased to 7083. With the recovery of 228 patients on Friday the total number of recovered patients in the state has increased to 3,23,855. The recovery percentage from the disease is now at 95.43 and the sample positivity rate is at 6.27 percent in the state.

Death of one patient each was reported from Military Hospital (MH) Roorkee and LD Bhatt hospital Kashipur from the disease on the day. The department also reported seven such deaths on Friday which had occurred in the past were not reported earlier.

Dehradun district reported 48, Almora 22, Haridwar 14, Nainital nine, Tehri eight, Pithoragarh and Rudraprayag seven each, Udham Singh Nagar four, Uttarkashi and Chamoli three each and Champawat one new cases of the disease on the day. Bageshwar reported no fresh case of the disease on Friday.

The state now has 2,627 active patients of the disease. Dehradun district is at top of the table in the list of active cases with 682 cases while Haridwar is in second position with 337 active cases. Pithoragarh has 282,Bageshwar 192, Almora 191, Nainital 183, Pauri 178,  Rudraprayag 129, Chamoli 108, Champawat 104, Udham Singh Nagar 91, Tehri 95 and Uttarkashi 55 active cases of the disease.  

 The state reported five new cases of Mucormycosis (Black fungus) on Friday after which it now has 483 patients of the disease. Death of two patients from Black Fungus was reported on the day. A total of 90 patients have so far died from this disease while 70 have recovered. 

In the vaccination drive 1,01,618 people were vaccinated in 849 sessions held on the day. A total of 7,58,171 people have been fully vaccinated while 33,61,199 people have been partially vaccinated in the state
