Nainital municipality workers to start indefinite strike in protest against delayed salary

Workers of the Nainital municipality have decided to go on an indefinite strike from Tuesday against the authority not paying salaries of its sanitation workers for two months. The decision was taken unanimously in a meeting of the municipality workers presided over by the employees federation head Mohan Singh Chilwal on Monday. The sanitation workers of Nainital municipality have been on a tool down strike for four days demanding payment of their salaries for the months of December and January.  Now the municipality workers have decided to boycott work and stage protest demonstration from Tuesday. The municipality workers have informed the Nainital municipality chairman Sachin Negi about their decision in a letter. They have informed in the letter that in the past the workers of the municipality and contract workers had been told that their salaries for two months would be paid by February 5. However, this has not been done so far due to which there is discontent among the workers.
