While chairing a meeting with the senior officials of the line departments, including Jal Nigam, PWD, Irrigation, on reconstruction of the land erosion–hit Jyotirmath here on Tuesday, the Chamoli district magistrate Sandeep Tiwari stressed on inter-departmental coordination for fast and smooth implementation of the fortification projects meant for the town. He
directed the officials to start the work on sewerage, drainage and slope stabilisation from Sunil ward in the first phase of the landslide prevention works.
Earlier, he instructed them to constitute a team and formulate a plan in a week after conducting a joint inspection. Also, he asked them to take the affected locals and the public representatives into confidence before executing any phase of the disaster prevention projects.
Further, he informed that the first instalment has been approved by the Centre for the landslide prevention work for Jyotirmath. “Now, it is time for us to start the execution,” he added.
