U’khand Cabinet meeting scheduled in Gairsain

Budget session of Assembly to commence on Monday 

The meeting of Uttarakhand cabinet would be held in Bharadisain at Gairsain on March 13. In this meeting the cabinet is expected to take various decisions and give final touches to the budget of the State which would be presented on March 15. Incidentally the cabinet meeting would be held in the Bharadisain Assembly building after the address of the governor lieutenant general (retd) Gurmit Singh. The budget session of the Uttarakhand cabinet would commence with the address of the governor on March 13.

Meanwhile the State administration and the secretariat of the Uttarakhand Vidhan Sabha are gearing up for successfully holding the session in Gairsain. In view of the session the State government has imposed a ban on the leaves of the employees of State secretariat and Vidhan Sabha.  On Thursday, the chief secretary S S Sandhu took a meeting of the officers of different departments to review the preparations for the Assembly session. He directed that the answers of the questions and the drafts of the bills and other reports to be tabled in the Assembly should be prepared in time. Sandhu said that the arrangements of basic services such as water and electricity should be made and uninterrupted connectivity should be ensured in Bharadisain. After the address of the governor on March 13, discussions on  the address and vote of thanks would be held on March 14 and 15. As per the tentative plan the Finance minister Prem Chand Agarwal would table the budget of the State for 2023-24 on March 15 pm. Discussions on budgetary provisions would be held on March 16. The budget session is expected to end on March 18.

The opposition Congress is expected to raise the issues of the paper leak cases of the competitive examinations, use of force on the agitating students, price rise, law and order situation and the Joshimath land subsidence during the budget session.
