Acting on complaints received from locals about plotting in violation of rules in Eco Town Colony here, the Kumaon commissioner Deepak Rawat inspected three phases of the colony on Friday evening. Rawat found that the three colonies lack adequate facilities.
They lack green spaces while there is no provision for roads, drainage system and sewage treatment plant. He directed the municipal commissioner and other officials to ensure an immediate stop on the sale of plots here. The Kumaon commissioner also found that many multistoried flats are being constructed and sold in violation of rules. He directed the city magistrate to submit a report on who has approved the maps of the flats and to issue a notice to the coloniser.
