The Chamoli district magistrate Himanshu Khurana inspected the status of preparations for the Char Dham Yatra and ongoing construction works in Badrinath on Thursday. He directed the departments concerned to ensure that the Saket Mandir road is completed, sewer line repair and improvement of internal routes is also completed before the start of the Yatra. The electricity and water supply should be restored before the start of the pilgrimage. Further, street lights on the main roads, vehicle parking and signage for the convenience of the travellers should be ensured. Inspecting the works underway as part of the Badrinath masterplan, the district magistrate directed the officials of the executing agencies to increase the number of workers. Special focus should be laid on the quality of works and most of the works should be completed before the start of the Yatra, he added.
