Allocation of cess to be discussed in state-level seminar against drug abuse

In view of increasing substance abuse among children and for prevention and rehabilitation of such minors in the State, the Uttarakhand child protection committee is organising a state-level seminar in Dehradun on January 13.

According to the secretary of the committee, Yogendra Yadav, the seminar will discuss several points like how various departments including the health department, education department and police department can help to restrict the supply of drugs among minors in the districts. He said that the allocation of cess to tackle drug abuse is among the major points of the agenda of the seminar. Besides this, the treatment and rehabilitation of children who are addicted to substance abuse will be discussed too among the other important issues in the seminar, informed Yadav. He stated that the officials from various departments and organisations will be attending the seminar.
