The chairman of the Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC), Ajendra Ajay has claimed that a conspiracy is being orchestrated to remove him from the position. Interacting with the media persons, Ajay said that many people developed animosity with him when he started the process of reforms in the BKTC. He said that employees were not transferred in the BKTC ever since it was set up in the year 1939.
Ajay said that he started reforms in the functioning of the committee and under the process he transferred some employees, closed the camp office of BKTC in Dehradun and commercial office in Rishikesh. The functioning of BKRC was streamlined, the advertisements were stopped but all these measures evoked reaction from the people who got affected. “I am being targeted for the reforms and I have been told that some people have even given Supari for my removal- money is being spent for this purpose,’’ he said.
On the controversy evoked by a picture of his viewing the gold plated inner walls of the Garbh Grah of Kedarnath temple made viral on the social media, Ajay said that his picture was made viral as part of a conspiracy. He however added that the picture gave him publicity. The BKTC chairman said that everyone knows it pretty well that development works unprecedented in the history of the State have taken place and are going on at the Kedarnath and Badrinath shrines.
