Congress questions transfer of STF chief

Friday, 04 November 2022 | PNS | DEHRADUN

The Uttarakhand Congress has said that the sudden transfer of the chief of the Special Task Force (STF) should be considered as the closure of the Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UKSSSC) paper leak case.

Interacting with the media persons at the headquarters of the State Congress, the spokesperson of the party Garima Dasauni said that ignoring the demand for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) investigation the Dhami government had handed over the UKSSSC paper leak case to the STF. She said that initially the STF acted expeditiously and arrested some persons involved in the case.

Dasauni said that despite having an army of government advocates many of the accused got bail one after another. She said that on the one hand the Dhami government pretends to act against those involved in the scams and on the other hand it lets the accused go in absence of evidence. The Congress leader said that many big names were exposed in the UKSSSC paper leak case and it was suspected that some prominent politicians were also involved in it. She said that the Dhami government should clear its stand on the issue since it has transferred the police officer leading the STF.

It is pertinent to mention here that the outgoing STF senior superintendent of police Ajai Singh is one of the seven police officers transferred by the State authorities on Thursday.
