AAP’s Hindu card: Kothiyal launches campaign to make U’khand spiritual capital of Hindus

Playing the Hindu card ahead of the assembly elections in Uttarakhand, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has started a campaign to make Uttarakhand the spiritual capital of Hindus.  The party launched a website www.spiritualcapitaluttarakhand.com on Saturday in which people can register and give their suggestions.

Talking to the media persons the senior leader of AAP and its chief ministerial candidate, Colonel (Retd) Ajay Kothiyal said on Saturday that on August 17, the national convenor of AAP, Arvind Kejriwal had pledged that Uttarakhand would be made the spiritual capital and every worker of the party is determined to work on it. Launching the website designed for the purpose he said that people can register and submit their ideas on the spiritual capital. He said that the campaign would be taken in all parts of the state and appealed to people to register on the website to fulfil the dream of spiritual capital.

Kothiyal said that apart from Char Dhams the state of Uttarakhand has Kumbh Nagari Haridwar, Dhari Devi, Patal Bhuvneshwari, Golu Devta, Tungnath, Rudranath, Narsinh temple, Gopinath, Mahasu Devta and many religious spots. The state is the origin place of holy Ganga and Yamuna, has the capital of Yoga Rishikesh and birth place of King Bharat. He said that the AAP wants to develop world class facilities for the pilgrims in these places which would attract more and more followers to the state. The AAP leader said that apart from increasing the fame of the state it would increase the employment opportunities. Taking a dig at the ruling BJP for making a Char Dham Devasthanam Management Board without taking the Teerth Purohits and stakeholders into confidence, Kothiyal demanded that the board should be dissolved with immediate effect.
