The Union Environment and Forests minister Bhupendra Yadav has assured that all the issues of Uttarakhand related to forests pending at the level of the Central government would be resolved soon. The union minister assured that every possible help would be provided to the Uttarakhand government.

He gave this assurance during a meeting with the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at the CM’s residence on Friday. In the meeting Dhami raised the issues related to No Objection Certificate (NOC) of the forest department and the projects pending at the centre for environmental clearance. The union minister’s statement assumes significance because many developmental projects of Uttarakhand are stuck at various levels of environmental clearance in the centre.

The duo also discussed many other issues related to the state. In the meeting the subject of forest fires also came up for discussion.  Yadav said that apart from being a major centre of religion and faith, Uttarakhand is an important state in terms of forests and environment. The union minister said that he discussed various issues pertaining to forests and environment with the officers at Forest Research Institute (FRI). He also presided over the meetings of officers of Project elephant and Compensatory Afforestation fund Management and Planning Act (CAMPA).
