Monsoon withdraws from U’khand, temperature begins to drop

The Southwest Monsoon has withdrawn from the entire Uttarakhand. According to the State meteorological centre, the monsoon withdrew from the State on Friday.

The meteorological centre has forecast that dry weather will prevail in all the districts of the State on Sunday. The provisional State capital Dehradun will experience mainly clear skies with the maximum and minimum temperatures likely to be about 33 degrees Celsius and 20 degrees Celsius respectively on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the arrival of the winter appears imminent considering the decrease in the temperatures especially during the early morning and night. The maximum and minimum temperatures in most parts of the State in the mountainous regions and plains have witnessed a departure from the normal temperature ranging from one to four degrees Celsius in recent days.

The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various places on Saturday were 32.2 degrees Celsius and 20.4 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 33.5 degrees Celsius and 21 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 24.6 degrees Celsius and 12.9 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 24.7 degrees Celsius and 15.6 degrees Celsius in New Tehri. No significant rain was reported in the State on Saturday.
