CM flags off walk, plays badminton with Covid winners

On a positive note related to Covid-19, chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat flagged off a walk and inaugurated a badminton competition for Covid winners- people who recovered from Covid-19. The CM flagged off the walk at a programme organised at the CM residence on Sunday. Later, after inaugurating the badminton competition, Rawat paired with a Covid winner and played a doubles match against Sports secretary BK Sant paired with another Covid winner. The CM’s pair won the match 10-5.

The Covid warrior to winner programme has been initiated on the directions of the CM to boost morale for the fight against Covid-19.  Speaking on the occasion, the CM said that at a time when the whole world is grappling with the pandemic, united efforts can help win the fight. Though there has been a drop in the rate of infection, this is the time to be all the more cautious. Wearing of masks and observing social distancing has to be remembered during the coming festivals, he stressed. “Earlier the need was felt to raise the morale of those who had recovered from Covid but now these same Covid winners and boosting everyone’s morale in the fight against the pandemic. Such events will definitely raise public awareness on Covid. All of us must understand that there must be no complacency till there is a medicine,” stressed Rawat.
