Vehicle theft racket busted, 2 nabbed, 9 motorcycles recovered

In latest news from Uttarakhand, Kotwali Mallital police busted an inter-state vehicle theft racket and nabbed two of its members. The duo’s interrogation helped police recover nine stolen motorcycles whose market prices are about Rs 12 lakh. The police action followed registration of cases regarding continuous vehicle theft cases against unidentified persons.
A special team was formed to arrest the perpetrators of these crimes on the instruction of SSP, Nainital, Prahlad Kumar Meena. To identify the culprits, CCTV footage was scrutinised. Two suspects were identified and arrested with a stolen two-wheeler from Mangoli area.
During interrogation, they confessed to having stolen two-wheelers from several places like Mallital, Haldwani, Ramnagar and Bazpur. Later, police recovered eight other two-wheelers hidden in a forest area near Nalni.
The duo was identified as Deepak Bisht (24) from Nainital district and Akash (20) from Udham Singh Nagar district.
