4922 vaccinated in 108 vaccine sessions on Saturday

31860 frontline and 76914 health workers have received the dose of vaccine in the state so far. U’khand has now only 637 active patients.

In the ongoing vaccination drive in Uttarakhand which got started on January 16, a total of 108774 healthcare workers and frontline workers have so far received the vaccine jabs. A total of 31860 frontline and 76914 health workers have received the dose of vaccine in the state. On Saturday 4922 beneficiaries were vaccinated in 108 vaccine sessions held in different parts of the state.

The Chief Operations Officer (COO) of state Covid-19 control room, Dr Abhishek Tripathi said that a total of 2046 vaccine sessions have so far been held in the state. He said that 4543 front line workers and 379 health care workers were vaccinated on Saturday. In Haridwar 20 vaccine sessions were held on the day in which 1454 frontline workers and 346 health workers were vaccinated while 786 frontline workers were vaccinated in Dehradun in 15 sessions. In Udham Singh Nagar, 348 frontline workers were vaccinated in 15 sessions while in Nainital 471 frontline workers were vaccinated in nine sessions.

Meanwhile the number of patients of Covid-19 increased to 96766 in the state on Saturday with the state health department reporting 44 fresh cases of the disease. The department also reported the death of two patients from the disease which increased the death toll to 1680 in the state. The authorities discharged 47 patients from different hospitals of the state following their recovery on Saturday. A total of 93060 patients have recovered from the disease in the state so far and the recovery percentage is now at 96.17. Two patients of the disease were reported dead at Sushila Tiwari government hospital, Haldwani on Saturday.

The health department reported 12 patients each of Covid-19 from Dehradun and Haridwar on Saturday. In Nainital eight patients were reported, while five patients surfaced in Udham Singh Nagar district on the day. Pithoragarh reported three patients while Almora and Tehri reported two patients each. No new case of the disease was reported from six districts on Saturday. These districts are Bageshwar, Chamoli, Champawat, Pauri, Rudraprayag and Uttarkashi.

The state now has only 637 active patients of the disease. Haridwar district is at the top of the table of active cases of the disease with 125 patients. Nainital has 89, Almora 82, Udham Singh Nagar 59, Bageshwar 54, Dehradun 49, Pithoragarh 46, Pauri 31, Chamoli 28, Tehri 26, Rudraprayag 19, Champawat 15 and Uttarkashi 14 active cases of the disease.
