48 new Covid-19 patients, 51 recoveries in U’khand

The state health department reported 48 new cases of the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) and 51 recoveries from the disease in Uttarakhand on Thursday. No death from the disease was reported in the state on the day.

The cumulative count of Covid-19 patients in the state is now at 3,41,982 while a total of 3,27,915 patients have recovered from the disease so far. In the state 7361 people have lost their lives to Covid -19 till date. The recovery percentage from the disease is now at 95.89 and the sample positivity rate on Thursday was at 0.19 per cent in the state. The authorities collected 27,507 samples in different parts of the state on the day.

The state health department reported 12 new patients of Covid -19 from Dehradun and Nainital, seven from Udham Singh Nagar, six from Almora, four from Pithoragarh, three from Uttarkashi and one each from Bageshwar, Pauri, Haridwar and Rudraprayag on Thursday.

No new cases of the disease were reported from Chamoli, Champawat and Tehri districts on the day.

The state now has 669 active patients of the disease. Dehradun district is at top of the table in the list of active cases with 265 patients while Udham Singh Nagar is in the second position with 72 active cases. Udham Singh Nagar has 65, Nainital 56, Haridwar 44, Champawat 33, Chamoli 32, Rudraprayag 26, Uttarkashi 22, Almora 18, Pauri 14, Tehri 12 and Bageshwar 10 active cases each of the disease.

The state reported no new case of Mucormycosis (Black fungus) on Thursday. A total of 555 patients of Black Fungus have been reported till date in the state and out of them 124 have died. In the ongoing vaccination drive 91,097 people were vaccinated in 611 sessions held on Thursday in different parts of the state.
