Paying a surprise visit to the office of the Badrinath Kedar Temple Committee (BKTC) here on Wednesday, the Tourism and Culture minister Satpal Maharaj pulled up the committee employees and warned them against discharging their duties with a casual attitude. He said that negligence will not be tolerated in the facilitation of the Char Dham Yatra, adding that adverse entry will be made in the confidential roll of any officer or employee found violating the orders. The minister made a visit to the BKTC office to check preparations for the Char Dham Yatra starting next month. He said, “A large number of pilgrims are going to undertake the Char Dham Yatra this year. More than two lakh people have already registered. We have to work day and night, and ensure that all arrangements are made properly. The orders of senior officials must be followed without any lapse. Anyone found negligent on work or not following orders will have an adverse entry in the CR. I will come here again and check the functioning. Do not talk then about how you will tend to your family if I take action against negligent workers. I will not spare anyone because the Yatra is going to be very big this year,” warned the minister.

Stressing that negligence will not be tolerated in facilitation of the Char Dham Yatra, Maharaj said that ensuring successful conduct of the pilgrimage is also a matter of prestige for the state. “We have to ensure under all circumstances that the Yatra is successful. I will have to take action if there is any kind of carelessness in undertaking work during the Yatra,” said the minister.

He further said, “We have to listen to the people, answer calls on the mobile phone and if we are unable to pick up the call, we must call back later. We will have to take care of such aspects so that the Yatra is conducted successfully. The BKTC chairman Ajendra Ajay, CEO BD Singh and others were also present on the occasion.
