Two deaths, 33 new Covid-19 cases in U’khand

The State Health department reported the death of two patients from Covid-19 and detected only 33 new cases of the disease in Uttarakhand on Thursday. The authorities declared 117 patients cured on the day which reduced the active case count to 770 in the state.

The department has so far detected 91,495 new cases of the disease from January 1 this year till date. A total of 87,262 patients have recovered from the disease so far in this year while 268 patients have died in the state since January 1 this year. The recovery percentage of the disease was at 95.37 on Thursday. The positivity rate of the disease was reported at 0.64 per cent on the day.  

The authorities reported the death of one patient each at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh and Synergy hospital Dehradun on Thursday.

  The health department reported 15  new patients from Dehradun, six from Haridwar and three from Pauri on Thursday. No new patient was detected from Bageshwar, Champawat, Rudraprayag and Udham Singh Nagar districts on the day. 

The active case count of Covid-19 in the state is now at 770.  Dehradun with 294 cases is at the top of the table of active cases while Pauri has 124 active cases of the disease. Bageshwar and Uttarkashi are at the bottom of the table with four active cases each. In the ongoing vaccination drive 12,885 people were vaccinated in 700 sessions in the state held on Thursday.
