CM Dhami to inspect construction in Kedarnath soon

Directs officials to form PWD dedicated division to expedite construction works

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that he will soon visit Kedarnath to inspect the construction works being undertaken there. He said this while chairing a meeting to review the progress in Kedarnath reconstruction project and the Badrinath masterplan.

Dhami directed the officials to speed up execution of the Kedarnath reconstruction works and the Badrinath masterplan construction works. The execution of these works should be ensured according to the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The chief minister also directed officials to expedite preparation of detailed project report for beautification of Badrinath temple complex, river front development, arrival plaza and other works there. A dedicated division of the Public Works Department should be formed to speed up the construction works, he said.

Tourism secretary Dilip Jawalkar informed that Rs 170 crore is available for Kedarnath reconstruction under which five construction works are in progress. The command and control room, queue management system shelter, hospital building, Sangam Ghat reconstruction and the Shankaracharya Samadhi works are in progress. Works in the second phase of Kedarnath reconstruction will also be started soon. Jawalkar informed that the Badrinath masterplan had been finalised. There is an arrangement of Rs 250 crore for works under the masterplan.
