AAP leaders self-quarantine after Kejriwal tests positive for Covid-19

Senior leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) including chief ministerial candidate Ajay Kothiyal and state in-charge Dinesh Mohaniya went into self-quarantine on Tuesday after the Delhi chief minister and national convenor of the party Arvind Kejriwal announced that he had tested positive for Covid-19 on Tuesday morning. Kejriwal visited Dehradun on Monday ahead of the 2022 state assembly elections and addressed a public gathering at Parade Ground after holding a meeting at Bijapur Guest House with senior party leaders. The spokesman of the party, Amit Rawat informed that all the leaders who were in direct contact with Kejriwal including Kothiyal, Mohaniya and the head of AAP’s campaign committee Deepak Bali quarantined themselves as soon as they got the news of the Delhi CM testing positive for Covid-19. The senior leaders of the party have also planned to start the campaigns and visits in various constituencies of the Kumaon and Garhwal divisions. Senior leaders from Delhi and Punjab were also expected to participate in these campaigns.  but according to the party members. However, the party members said that the final decision will be taken on Wednesday.

“The leaders got the RT-PCR test done on Tuesday and are waiting for the results. There are no symptoms of Covid in any of the leaders so far but the further strategy will be finalised after we get the results on Wednesday,” stated Rawat.
