The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and Forest department personnel rescued tourists in Valley of the Flowers after temporary bridges leading to the valley were swept away following heavy rains in this region of Chamoli district.
The streams in the valley swelled up swiftly past Wednesday afternoon. This resulted in temporary bridges across a stream being swept away by the strong current and rising waters. The range officer Chetna Kandpal informed that personnel of the SDRF and Forest department had safely rescued the tourists who had gone to the Valley of Flowers.
