Cong to hold state-wide protests today

The Uttarakhand Congress would hold protests and burn the effigy of the state across the state on Wednesday on the issue of price rise.

The Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) President Pritam Singh told media persons at Rajiv Bhawan here on Tuesday that the demonstration would be held at all district headquarters. He said that the Narendra Modi led BJP government has failed miserably in controlling the prices. The general public is reeling under the spiralling prices. He said that in all the elections the BJP had claimed that it would bring down the prices if voted to power but instead of going down the prices are on the rise. He said that in the last 20 days, the price of cooking gas cylinder has increased by 100 rupees and the prices of diesel and petrol have become out of reach of the general public.

The PCC president said that the general public which was reeling under the effects of Covid-19 pandemic is forced to bear the onslaught of the rising prices.
