There are immense possibilities for self-employment and start-ups in Uttarakhand. Compared to larger States, Uttarakhand is progressing swiftly in skill development and start-ups. Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said this while attending the Rise In Uttarakhand event held here along with Union minister Ramdas Athawale on Thursday. The duo visited the exhibits put up by various Central and State government enterprises at the event.

Congratulating the event organisers, Dhami said that such events inspire the youth to do something new. Stating that the nation is progressing under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said that India had developed a new identity after 2014. Crores of people have benefitted from Covid vaccination, Ayushman Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana, Skill India and other such schemes. Averring that Uttarakhand is making consistent progress under Modi’s leadership, Dhami talked about the Kedarnath reconstruction work, Rs 256 crore master plan made for Badrinath and the Delhi-Dehradun elevated road construction which is about to be completed soon. Various ambitious projects of the Central Government including Bharat Mala project, Parvat Mala project and Rishikesh-Karnprayag rail project are underway in the State. Referring to welfare schemes being undertaken by the State government especially for women and children, he said that the government is encouraging women self help groups with budgetary provision also being made for the purpose. He exhorted the gathering to do their bit for making Uttarakhand one of the best Indian States by 2025.

Union minister Ramdas Athawale opined that Dhami was doing good work in Uttarakhand as a young leader. While the nation is progressing with developmental schemes under PM Modi, Uttarakhand too is progressing under Dhami, he added.
