Active case count mounts to 103 on Friday

In an indication of the spurt in the cases of Covid-19, the active case count in Uttarakhand increased to 103 on Friday. The state health department reported 21 new patients of the Covid-19 in the state on Friday. Death of no patient was reported from in the state on the day. The authorities also declared seven patients cured from the disease on the day. The department has so far detected 92,386 new cases of the disease from January 1 this year till date. A total of 88,785 patients have recovered from the disease so far in this year while 275 patients have died in the state since January 1 this year. The recovery percentage of the disease was at 96.10 per cent on Wednesday. The positivity rate of the disease was reported at 0.70 per cent on the day. The health department reported 13 new patients from Dehradun, five from Nainital, two from Uttarkashi and one from Haridwar on Friday.
Dehradun with 67 cases is at the top of the table of active cases while Haridwar and Nainital have 14 and 11 active cases of the disease respectively. Pithoragarh, Rudraprayag and Tehri districts have no active cases of the disease. In the ongoing vaccination drive 16,539 people were vaccinated in 837 sessions in the state held on Friday.
