In latest news from Uttarakhand, The State meteorological centre has issued orange alert of heavy rain for four days starting from July 7 across the State. As per the Met warning, four districts-Nainital, Haridwar, Champawat and Udham Singh Nagar- may bear the maximum brunt of the shower spell. Acting on the Met centre’s heavy to extremely heavy rain warning, the districts magistrates of four Kumaon districts-Nainital, Champawat, Almora and Bageshwar- have ordered that all schools-government and private-and anganwadi centres across these districts would remain closed on July 7.  Meanwhile, normal life has been disrupted due to the incessant rain across the State and 57 roads have reportedly been closed for traffic. The closed roads include five in Bageshwar, nine in Almora, seven in Champawat, 13 in Pithoragarh and 23 in Nainital. It is learnt that the rural areas of the State are the most affected due to the roads remaining closed as transport of essentials like edibles and cooking gas has stopped.
