The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) said that the interim budget presented by Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Thursday does not cater to the needs of youths, women and small businessmen. AAP leader and former spokesman of the party in Garhwal division Ravindra Anand said the BJP led Central government always talks about women empowerment, self- employment and youth power but it never takes any such initiative in the budget that reflects that these claims are true.

“The budget presented by Sitharaman has completely neglected housewives, small businessmen and youths who were expecting the government to be a bit generous before Lok Sabha elections but that didn’t happen. As in past years, the government only considered the welfare of big industrialists and rich people and completely neglected the backbone of our society which is women and youth. Besides this, small industrialists who are trying to make it big in their respective states were also expecting some positive outcome for them from the budget but they were left disappointed too,” Anand said. He said that the budget is extremely against middle-class people which will lead to more inflation and hiked prices of day-to-day things necessary to survive.
