Poppy  fields destroyed in Purola

In latest news from Uttarakhand, as directed by Uttarkashi superintendent of police direction Arpan Yaduvanshi, the district police in assistance with the revenue department destroyed the illegal cultivation of poppy crops (opium) grown on large swathe of lands in Purola area.  

Police said that a case was registered at Purola police station under Section 8/18 of the NDPS Act against four landowners for allegedly cultivating opium in their lands illegally.  

The accused quartet was identified as Gan Ranveer Singh,  Manveer Singh, Narayan Singh and Shoorveer Singh.

Congratulating the team, SP said that their battle against such narcotic drug cultivation would continue with full vigour in coming days.
