Covid-19 vaccination: 13248 vaccinated on Wednesday in U’khand

The vaccination of senior citizens and the persons in the age group of 45 to 59 years having comorbidity are being vaccinated in good numbers in Uttarakhand.  A total of 13248 people were vaccinated on Wednesday in different parts of Uttarakhand. In the state 69780 people have been fully vaccinated so far as they have received both the first and second dose of the vaccine. A total of 57327 senior citizens (60 Plus) have received the first dose of the vaccine in the state. Similarly 3059 persons in the age group of 45-59 years having co-morbidity have been vaccinated. The Chief Operations Officer (COO) of state Covid-19 control room, Dr Abhishek Tripathi said 197 vaccine sessions were organised in different parts of the state on Wednesday.  In Dehradun 37 vaccine sessions were organised in which 2025 senior citizens, 137 people with co-morbidity, 279 healthcare workers and 386 frontline workers were vaccinated on the day. Similarly 992 senior citizens, 124 persons with co-morbidity, 153 health care workers and 934 front line workers were vaccinated in 50 vaccine sessions in Haridwar district. Meanwhile the state health department reported 36 new cases of the disease on Wednesday which increased the tally of the disease to 97565. Death of two patients was reported by the department on the day which increased the death toll in the state to 1697. The authorities discharged 45 patients from different hospitals of the state following their recovery on Wednesday. A total of 93858 patients have recovered from the disease in the state so far and the recovery percentage is now at 96.20. The state health department reported 19 new cases of the disease from Haridwar, 12 from Nainital, three from Udham Singh Nagar and one each from Pauri and Rudraprayag.  No new case was reported from Almora, Bageshwar, Chamoli, Champawat, Dehradun, Pithoragarh, Tehri and Uttarkashi districts on the day.  

The state now has 600 active patients of the disease. Nainital district is at the top of the table of active cases of the disease with 180 patients, Haridwar 170, Dehradun 116, Udham Singh Nagar 35, Pauri 32, Champawat 16, Almora 12, Uttarkashi nine, Chamoli six, Pithoragarh and Rudraprayag four each and Bageshwar two active patients of the disease.
