The Bharatiya Janata Party is aiming to make Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally in Rishikesh on April 11 a historic event.

Lending final shape to preparations for Modi’s rally, the Bhumi Pujan of the IDPL hockey ground in Rishikesh will be conducted in the presence of chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and BJP State president Mahendra Bhatt. The construction of the stage and other temporary structures at the venue will begin on the same day. The BJP State media in-charge Manveer Singh Chauhan said that the PM’s rally in Rishikesh will be connected to the three Lok Sabha constituencies- Tehri, Garhwal and Haridwar along with 23 Vidhan Sabha constituencies. The party workers from these segments are expected to attend the rally along with the public in record numbers. The party representatives have already inspected the venue and found it suitable considering its capacity and parking space.

Chauhan said that considering the feedback received by the party, the enthusiasm in the public and party for Modi is such that a record number of people are expected to attend this programme. On the directions of Bhatt, the party’s State general secretary Aditya Kothari has been appointed convenor for the event while State vice president Kuldeep Kumar has been appointed the in-charge.

It will be recalled here that Modi had earlier addressed the public at Rudrapur in the Kumaon region on April 2. That event was aimed especially at the voters in the Almora and Nainital-Udham Singh Nagar Lok Sabha constituencies in the Kumaon region.
