CM transfers Rs 12 crore to 6,000 children under MVY

Directs WECD to make task force for sex ratio improvement 

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Wednesday transferred an amount of Rs 12 crore to the accounts of 6,000 children who are beneficiaries of Mukhyamantri Vatsalya Yojana (MVY). The CM transferred this amount online, Rs 3,000 each for the beneficiaries marked under MVY, in the review meeting of the works of the Women Empowerment and Child Development (WECD) department. He also directed the officials concerned to take assistance from other social organisations to provide more help to MVY beneficiaries who lost their parents. He asked them to explore the possibilities of formation of State level sponsorship trust along with formulation of street children policy for the welfare of such children.

The CM also directed the officials concerned to ensure the effective implementation of the Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (PCPNDT) Act to improve the sex ratio in each district. He directed the department to form a task force under the supervision of the district magistrate in each district to carry out work to improve the sex ratio. He also asked the department to focus on setting up rehabilitation centres to make the State drug-free. He directed the officials to provide all information regarding government schemes in the Apuni Sarkar portal to ensure the maximum number of people can get benefits as beneficiaries under the government programmes. He also instructed the officials to form an app to provide such information at the department level to make it more reachable to local citizens.

The CM said that the officials should pay special attention to simplifying the implementation of schemes to ensure people get maximum benefits as soon as possible. He also directed the department to make a plan along with the Anganwadi centre for the adoption of malnourished children in every district and ensure its implementation in mission mode. The WECD minister Rekha Arya, additional chief secretary Radha Raturi and secretary HC Semwal were also present in the meeting.
