The Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami virtually inaugurated the historic Uttarayani fair of Bageshwar on Saturday. Speaking on the occasion he said Makar Sankranti festival has spiritual and scientific importance. “Today is an auspicious day and the importance of the festival is from ancient times. This fair used to be my favourite during childhood. Such events are very important to promote culture,’’ he said.
The CM said that soon Bageshwar district will be added in the railway map. He said that the survey of the Tanakpur-Bageshwar rail route would be expedited. He also made an announcement to renovate the Kapkote-Dharamghar motor road on the occasion.
