U’khand seeks best practices of foreign countries for implementation

CM Dhami meets seven Indian ambassadors, seeks their suggestions for development of State

The Uttarakhand government has sought best practices being adopted by foreign countries in different sectors so that feasibility of their implementation in the State is studied and a working plan for their implementation is made. Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami made a request in this regard to the ambassadors of India deployed in different countries during his meeting with them at his residence on Monday.
 Dhami also sought their help in promoting the one district two products scheme being undertaken by the State government in their respective countries of deployment. He said that efforts are needed to inform the people of other countries about the local products and produce of Uttarakhand and for this assistance from the ambassadors would be sought. He said that there is great scope for the State in the field of tourism, industry and horticulture and the State government is making efforts in this direction. The CM told the ambassadors that infrastructure and connectivity are improving at a rapid pace in the State. He suggested to them that they should inform the Uttarakhand government about the people of foreign countries intending to visit Uttarakhand for information regarding tourism, culture and heritage. Such people would be  welcomed and every possible help would be provided to them, he assured.

 The ambassadors deployed in different countries suggested that the State should promote the products and food of the mountainous areas. They said that for promoting local products the good arrangement of their manufacturing, branding and packaging should be done. They suggested that Uttarakhand can be projected globally as the best destination for Yoga and wellness tourism.  The State can make a good arrangement for providing Yoga training for a large number of people.

 In the meeting the CM directed the officers of the State to do complete documentation of the suggestions given by the ambassadors and prepare a working plan by incorporating these suggestions.

 The ambassador of India in Sweden Tanmay Lal, Indian ambassador in Tanzania Viraj Singh, Indian ambassador in Panama US Rawat, Indian ambassador in Brunei Alok Amitabh, Indian ambassador to Kenya N Khampa, Indian ambassador to Slovenia Namrata S Kumar and Indian ambassador to Algeria Gaurav Ahluwalia  met the CM on the occasion.
